The Rebellious House: a Tale of Beams and Motes
In Ezekiel 2, God tells the Israelites that they are being rebellious —just like the Gentiles they had been looking down on for their rebellion. While they prided themselves on being God’s chosen people, they were borrowing the idolatry of the nations around them. It was a textbook case of hypocrisy.
