Where is Your Treasure?
Have you ever thought about what you would pack if you had to evacuate your home? I recently did, and found it a challenging reminder of what true treasure really is.

Rest Through Obedience
Sin brings strife: between us and God, and between us and those around us. But there is a way to rest with God. In the book of Genesis, Noah shows us how rest comes through obedience.

7 Things God Hates
We don’t like to talk about God hating things. After all, doesn’t the Bible say that God is love? The truth is, it does, but it also says that God is holy, just, pure, good, and perfect. He cannot be all that without hating the sin that destroys the people He created. God’s attributes are inseparable. You cannot talk about one without taking into account all the others.
So, with all God’s attributes in mind, let’s look at seven things God’s Word says He hates.

Boldness and Access
How is it that we can come before God with our petitions? It is because of Christ. Ephesians 3:12 says, (referring to Christ,) “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him.”
So what does that mean for us?

To Wait with Patience
Do you like to wait for things? I don’t. It never seems to matter whether I am waiting for something pleasant or something I’m dreading: waiting is just as difficult either way.
Except when I wait with patience.

Not Like Me
Even though the worship of physical idols is less prevalent now than in ancient times, idolatry is just as rampant as it ever was. So how do we tell if something is an idol?

Abundantly Sufficient
Have you ever noticed how many times the word “all” appears in 2 Corinthians 9:8? It used to strike me as annoyingly repetitive: all grace, all sufficiency, all things… but that’s really the point.

Never a Waste
1 Corinthians 7 is a passage which has become very familiar to me over the years, but recently, as I was reading it in my daily time with God something jumped out at me for the very first time.

What is That to Thee?
Peter had been having a deep conversation with Jesus, in which He challenged Peter’s love for Him, and told him to demonstrate that love by serving others. Then Jesus said, “Follow Me.” Peter turned around and saw John following, and asked “Lord, and what shall this man do?” (v.21) Here is Jesus’ response:
